    How old are you??

My first job was as a delivery girl in 74. I took over for a guy that lost the use of his hand when his Still blew up. Man-O-Chevits, the dental labs were filled with characters back in the day. 65. Appears I am the oldest here. Even the H is younger than me! Ran the plaster room next...

    Foundation layer.

I love the idea of MIYO and from what I hear, it is an excellent product. It would be fun to experiment with its breadth of ablility. Also I like to hear reports of the Multilayered. Oh, and for the record, we discontinued offering zirconia. I like to read up on it, and we simply do not have...

    Foundation layer.

I understand what you mean. But I did have some de-lamination when I accidentally used glaze in the medium for staining between layers. Shocked me, but then I remembered I usually use stain/medium not glaze, stain both with the medium liquid. Glycerin was not the culprit.

    Foundation layer.

Have you tried it with porcelains other than Ivoclars Ceram and GC? I know I should be ashamed to still be using Ceramco3. Considering economics (CA) I still won't change from this familiar/sturdy porcelain.

cracks in d.sign porcelain using d.sign 84 alloy

The CTE is always important, but with this porcelain I'd go with finicky. Layered firing is a must from what I have seen, in a lab where the long term tech always had problems. She recommended not letting it dry too long and any fissures in the body could be covered during the second bake...

What in the heck is this??

I can't decide if 40+ years of experience is a detriment to our reputation. I guess I could deduct the 8 years of apprenticeship at his uncles lab where he was doomed to be a forever dork.

Recommend me a light curing unit for ND material

The H is using a Surefire 6PX Pro flashlight we already had. Now 85.00 on AMazon. Sunlight will cure the ND material I read. Haven't tried it. You could construct a box or can to protect your eyes better.

Thank you for the response. I gave the doc the information I collected and he has not responded. If you are in Canada, the delivery fee will be prohibitive. The Doc isn't forthcoming so, I can only thank you for the response.

how to open a dental lab in California?

California is a big state. The first thing to do is contact your local better business bureau. They will have a list of requirements that are current. CA is in flux constantly. There is a demand for cheap, crappy is not an issue. It is always better to have a CDT to flaunt, but seasoned...
