I know it isn't the 20+ yr wait anymore, my problem is that I can't get that kind of time off, 21 + days in a row. And I have no desire to do the Canyon in a canoe! Hiking in-out at Phantom Ranch is a so-so alternative. So, for now I'll be happy on the Idaho Salmon Rivers. As a consolation,, if life goes well and I can retire when I turn 60, we'll do it on a commercial dory trip. No motor rigs for me!

You should apply for a Grand Canyon permit. It is a weighted lottery system, which means if you haven't been your odds are better, and costs $25. Applicants submit online in February for the following year. You can opt for 8 or 16 person permits. People say May is great, not too hot plenty of daylight. I liked October also. http://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/weightedlottery.htm

        Hi
Can you delete the post I made in the implant forum (internal framework). I have a problem with someone viewing it.
