Ive got to do an ol'skool post and core.

Will PMMA burn out clean if I use a thin piece to reinforce the post?

Good question. My only thought would be if it's a gold post is to run it up a little higher than normal, hold for a bit to make sure, then to bring the temp down lower
to the recommend 1200? temp. hold for a bit, then cast.

Maybe leave a piece of PMMA on the oven floor, and see what it does and when, as you're doing your burnout?

I use pmma sticks for posts all the time, it’ll burn out clean at 600’C (don’t what that is in F) with a 20 minute hold time.

Right in line with what adam said, here are Ivoclar's instructions for their clear PMMA Cast.

(0°C × 9/5) + 32 = 32°F
(0°F − 32) × 5/9 = -17.78°C

I could link the web address but that would be too easy. You guys have to do a little math once in awhile

Okay, fess up. Who else thought when seeing the title it was about long work hours and too many days of those long hours?
