Guys need help.

I am iris. I work in a Implant CAD CAM lab and I make FCZ crowns using intra oral scan body- 3shape-Roland and the occlusion and prox contact are not consistent. In the cast crowns fit perfectly fine. On patient mouth is either loose or tide. Any ideas what could it be???

its the scan. plain and simple. what else could it be?
the nice part about intraoral scanning...it lays most of the blame firmly at the feet of the user. sure there are some odds and ends variables.

sounds to me like someone isnt checking the orientation and seating of the scan abutments prior to scanning, then not assuring the ti base is from a reliable manufacturer, and then grinding like hell to make it 'fit' only to find out it in fact does not 'fit'

The cast is made from close tray intra oral impression. We make a stone cast from this impression and use it to cement the FCZ crowns.

We don't have the high end printer to print models. So we are going this route for now.

Do u think this mismatch could be causing the fit problem.

We are finding they trios scans are not that accurate. We are not enjoying the trios, after having spent 45k

if the model was not poured properly, you have bigger problems than the cadcam system.

sometimes people pay the model pouring person the lowest wage in the lab because they think it is an unskilled job, all evidence to the contrary. of course then this lab has problems making everything work, because they hired someone that doesnt know what the right way is to do anything really.

maybe you should ask your model pouring person to show you how they fitted the analogs onto the impression transfers. if they take it out of the impression and try to jam it back in, you can see what the problem is.

Like most of the technology you have bought its not the tool that is the problem

the scans are only as good as they can be with the individual user.

Just throwing this out there, but if its only happening on implants like the one in the picture, the path of insertion sometimes makes the contacts difficult to deal with because they have to go in at a precise angle. Make your contacts convex and triple check how tight or loose they are. Broad contacts are tough on implants sometimes. Also the torque really affects how the contacts seat finally.
