Anyone still hand wax? We're about 50/50 right now....milling most major cases but hand waxing almost all of the single units. How did you guys like going from hand waxing to milling all the wax?

mill all our wax-ups, even single pfm's. I love having the digital footprint to replicate it at any time.

We mill PFM bridges, Emax ,FGCs in wax and wax up the margins under the microscope.
We noticed the margins after milling are not the level of our quality standard.
Simple PFM copings are faster to wax up.

Keep an eye on your path of insertion.
I would wonder why I was getting open margins on basic cases until I figured that part out.

I heard you can get better detail but heard trouble casting or pressing because material can expand and crack rings. Is this still true or from old printed material ?

Yes the undercuts ? I remember that.
Are you still using Argen for everything ?

pretty much unless original components are requested ie: Straumann or Nobel.

However Straumann's zirconia sucks right now, good fit but terrible shades.

Argen has been very good on pricing and turnaround times.
Their cast crowns from milling centers are all cast together which means you get their expansion ratios not yours. If you still do a large amount of metal then you may want to cast your own wax prints.

I just found I have a really tall 3 unit Anterior FCZ bridge that won't fit my 18mm disc. Which Zr do I have them mill it out of? I'm not sure what their names mean. It needs to be comparable to Jensen XT or Sagemax Nexxzr. Argen's list of options are Anterior FC, Esthetic FC. not sure which i want.
