we currently use whip mix hard rock
We have good results some times stone seems a little brittle
The working parameters are 21 ml water to 100 grams of stone
Not sure if this ratio is being followed
I have been told in past stone ratios are paramount for proper setting and expansion
Any info

are you allowing for a full set? what's the humidity in the air? is your water clean/filtrated/distilled/ electrolyte balanced? (some jokes in there)

Maybe you got a bad batch of it?

We have used Whipmix gypsum for 20 years, very happy with it.

He is supposed to let is set for 30 minutes
Now I can't confirm he allows for adequate dry time every time
But just timed his afternoon pours just over a half hour
Also allows it to sit under small fan during drying

Maybe the prep guy is into soft rock?
I'd check his play list.

I find my stone is stronger when left overnight. If I work on it the same day as it's poured,it seems to be more brittle.

Im convinced "full" set takes 24 hours. Don't forget consistency (and adequate) mix time.

yup! - 30minutes is just so it can be handled. Full Dry time is a day. We keep them all under warming lights after they've been sorted to expedite the process
