Hey guys, just thought I'd share some of the initial tests we've done with hyperDENT 2012 in-house. We've tackled all the Zimmer and Nobel Replace platforms and will have Astra and 3i done within the next week or so. The .stl data we used was a couple of generic abutments with no interface geometry (it was added in the CAM) so that's why some of them are sized/designed a little weird. We were just testing the fits. Sorry, no videos yet and we STILL don't have a macro lens here that can get good pics of these small parts. Maybe Santa will bring us something soon...

synocta doesn't seem too difficult, it's just an 8 degree taper and a hex (with some tapering on the edges). Nothing internal so there's no need for such a small (.5mm) tool.

I'll definitely have to get some of those files from you! Not sure about the cost, we're just doing some final tests on these parts before we approve them for our US D5 customers... so for me - it's free for now! :p

Here's the biggest change in the new version - importing interface geometries instead of defining or automatically detecting ridges and planes on the raw .stl data:

How much was your mill with all the options you got to do those abutments?

I am thinking of trying it with a 0.7 mm tool . Do you think it will work ?

Where are you thinking of using the tool? the hex surfaces? or the whole abutment base? i'd use something like a 1.5mm endmill with a .15 corner radius for the taper and hex and then finish the sharp corners with a 90 degree endmill (4 flutes can be nice for this too)

what shank size are you using? Datron AG might have what you need and they're relatively inexpensive compared to other dental tools (especially within Europe).

pete can you do this with the everest?

Hyperdent have been round and shown me the software, they say the Everest can mill abutment interfaces, the best I can do is bridge abutments as this is not as complex, but really do want the Hypo software.
