STL conversion

Do you guys know of any tools available for STL conversion or what file size would be advantageous for viewing and not printing. I know 3shape only exports the stl and DCM, yet the dcm is proprietary (but small). Can those STL files be converted into a smaller file size?

They have been hanging up on me for years and years when I call. I'd be glad to show you/them any stl /dcm/ ?? conversions.

Tried to get Richmond office to use Sirona system for wax-printing. $2.95/unit.

DentalShaper is sweet. Not for the new computer users!
It took me a few days to really rock&roll with the software.
I bought it with full blown industrial CAM software which we learned at the same time. My mind needed a rest after that.

If this is not you, then I am talking about another OrthoDent from Canada.

I can open/convert/read .*** without any 3shape stuff.

I charge $1.00 for the file conversion. Then anyone can read/view the file using minimagics or similar free 3d viewer software.


But for the most part...No. 99.9% of the Dental world would need something from 3shape or the 3shape vendor.

Does the conversion software have the ability to convert model data from say cercon format to sirona format? or just from one to STL?

If it can convert from one to another, i may have some business yourway for a $1 a file, espcially as our cercon furnace has packed up at the minute and we are having to ship models between 2 sites.

Degudent cant give any time for the repair parts as there all at IDS, thats service for ya!

The other files are copyright protected I would guess?

No way you could produce them legally without permission.

That would be like making/selling an I-tunes file without paying Apple.

Well it seems the Cercon .art file can not be converted to .stl so far. If anyone finds a way please let me know.

Yes, Cercon .art files work with my current version of DentalShaper.

They have a million releases. I think you need a dongle key to actually get everything to work, along with this months release of software.

I update my DentalShaper almost every Two weeks. The trial is an older verion.

We manufactured some Cercon files yesterday.
No problem.
.art files converted just fine.
teeth on the way to Canada already.
