Anyone know of a long lasting glaze oven that isn't an arm and a leg. I need to add contacts very occasionally on emax and zirconia.

Something like this may work well for you. It includes a vacuum pump and it would be a little more future proof for any ceramic you may want to play with in the future and do a nice job in firing, without going to a more expensive Ivoclar oven etc. It also has a small footprint.

That was the first thing I thought about, too (mini glaze). My thought was Kraver may need a vacuum pump for add ons that may get a bit bigger than a self glazing add on material could do? Emax, maybe Zi likes vacuum with their bakes, add ons included?

It may also help to go a step bigger and better for the things you may not be doing now, but could do later with a vacuum type of oven?

Don't have 4k to drop on an oven for 50 dollar contact fixes once a month. Just an idea if there was something good out there right now.

Look for used ovens on ebay and don't get in to big of a rush....
If you find one make sure you can still get oven parts
I wouldn't trust those little glazing ovens,,, on emax that is

That was my concern, in that emax likes vacuum, let alone the better and more accurate control and firing of a next step up, oven.

Need vacuum pump for sure and easy to find an oven w pump in the $1000.00 range or less.
fyi buying separate vacuum pump may set you back $500. - $600.00 easily

Actually to add contacts you do not need vacuum with many ceramics. I make my own formula with no vacuum.

Maybe with porc to metal I would be ok with it, but with emax or zirconia, I personally, would still feel better about a oven with vacuum. Again, that may just be me :)

But, but...where's the vacuum I've been beating into the ground here in this thread? (sorry, Tayeb).

Oh, there it is, now I can sleep tonight :D

Well my boss bought me a mini glaze 2 it was pretty cheap and said it works well still we shall see. i am a novice ceramist at best, I understand many of the concepts just not much hands on. What glaze kit should I get for adding contacts to emax/zirconia crowns? Would be nice if it were one universal system but it could be seperate.
