Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced spray for CAD. We have been using Dubl-Chek from Sherwin, it is excellent but one of our techs has developed an allergy to it. I know some of the suppliers out there have sprays but some of that stuff is really pricey. Thanks

I am using a spray from dentsply " centric occlusion spray" white. Its around $14
per 75 ml. I get about 10 - 15 scans per can. Works great with my InLab and my Procera scanners.

The only thing these sprays have in common is the insane price.

And also the ingredients, titanium oxide and alcohol.

I wouldn't use the foot spray though, I think it sucks. Too thick and clumpy. If you need a cheap alternative to scan spray use Magnaflux spotcheck or even better, as suggested above, occlusal spray. The occlusal spray is good but it can be difficult to get off of models.

I'm using occlusal spray for implant abutments, but i'm sure there are several other possibilites to make invisible things to visible for the scanner....

Tough actin Tinactin! It goes on clear at first. I think thats why people are getting it clumpy. Overspraying. Just one quick light coat and its good to go. I have to use it on gingiva scans but that is all I have to spray.

I like to scan with my shoes off, so I if I can hold the model between my knees just right, I can sure get my moneys worth!:D

100% Talc powder and propellant.
Ultra fine dust. No clumps. No bioChemicals or other crap.

Big can. We buy in bulk and get them for around $10.

MSDS for this product shows it's safe to eat if ya want.

We use ArtoGraph Spray-booths for Air-brush. Four-stage filtration.
We spray right next to scanners for Five years and have not ruined a a scanner yet! LOL
