The question occured to me today as to whether or not scanning body/abutments for less widely used implant companies can be self fabricated or fabricated in conjunction with a milling center of choice? Has anyone had experience with this and if so, what scanners/software and milling center was it and was it cost effective?

I'm thinking the catch is in the milling center's ability to obtain factory interfaces with bulk stock for further milling or their ability to fabricate from the ground up.

Any input would be appreciated. I know it's swimming upstream but would like to hear opinions.

Thanks, Jeff
