Hi, We are trying the Rex 3 metal. What is the best way to cast w/ a torch? And can u reuse the buttons? If so do you have to anything to the buttons to clean or just remelt them?

Thanks for your help.

Directions come with the alloy, what other tips do you need ?
Re-melting NP , why ? can't get any cheaper than NP. (Its hard to heat a button and ingots evenly, plus chance of miscasts from over/under heating).
Rex 3 use to be the standard for NP, good metal,,,, Why not try Talladium Tilite NP..assorted CTE ranges of alloys for most porcelain systems. medically pure and million dollar insurance on the alloy.

Ditto. Why waste your time cleaning old np metal even? You might like WC Bond (Pentron). Nickle and Beryllium free, and designed to torch cast.

I worked at a lab that used Rex III in the early 80's, we threw the buttons away.
