Maybe we need a couple of side by side macro photo shots. If the emax if being fired correctly then there shouldn't be any porosity. I routinely rubber wheel and polish my anterior units with no "porosity" issues. There are many photos in the Restorations du Jour thread by Al who also uses this technique and they all have a beautiful surface appearance.
Are you referring to the e.max itself or the ceramic layered over it?

if you look at emax under an electron micro scope the the crystal structure is needle like and not dense like zirk ,thats where the problem is for lithium discilicate and why you should always put glaze over an adjusted emax surface. This is why dentist have to be very careful when cementing emax crowns if they use a bur or diamond to trim back the cement at the margin they go thru the glaze layer and leave a needle like structure against the gingiva right where you dont want it. thats the main reason why zi has such a good response around the gum.
