NO scanners are 5 axis, most of them work the same. I run on a 3shape D2000 and D700 scanner, love it no issues. But Medit scanner for exocad are really nice as well, and have the option to scan fully adjustable articulators like Sam, Panadent and so on. Sironia is lock to it's own software, In my opinion I would go otherwise. But I dont know your budget, Ceramill will work with any cad system that puts out a stl file.

Why InEosX5 ? a you using Inlab as your scan and design software? InEosX5 is a good scanner IF you a using Inlab. However you can still scan and then covert the file into STL file just incase you were to design using a deferent software apart from Inlab.

X5 is not very accurate scanner, there are better and faster out there. From what I understand, Sirona is not going to manufacture scanners any more. I may be wrong.
I use it because that is the only thing I have at the moment. Most of my work is still PFM and Emax so I don't use it much.

not accurate ??? i think the M..it wish they can sorry only German see below but the iso 12836 is BS. for all scanners but may they have problems on bigger cases because of the small field of view we can check if you want.

http://www.dentalkompakt-online.de/produktdetail/produkt/ineos_x5__2104.html

translation.see below

The result accuracy of the inEos X 5 has been with the inLab SW 16 according to DIN EN ISO 12836:2015 checks. The accuracy of the standard test body "Crown and bridge" was 2.1 µm ± 2.8 µm and the standard test body "Inlay" 1.3 µm ± 0.4 µm.

thats the iso below simple to scan.

The X5 scanner is good, it's only compatible with Inlab Designing software.

The bottom line is X5 won't work without Inlab.

That is right. It comes with SW 16. But if you want to use another design SW, you can convert your scans in to STL within SW16.
