There's something wrong with that quote. We didn't pay anything near that.

No...This is what eric asked me for. 50k for Two seats! One would go to new KaVo owner, and the other stay with me.

This was for 5-axis, and two different machine post. One was HAAS, which I would have to show them the correct formats even! ??

Oh well.....rediculous price. Bye!

That's high IMO...I was quoted something like 10k Euro for a full blown version...without the nesting module...if I remember correctly. ..

$25k will buy you a heck of an industrial CAM seat with support from real NC specialists... a local guy I'm friends with just bought a Mazak with GibbsCAM...boy that setup just blows everything "dental" out of water from all I've ever seen...

***... my english must be bad, or you did not read all my emails.. we misunderstood each other. Among things that were included in this price, was a visit in your office immediately, to make the post and mill your most complex parts. So please be fair in what you write.

Instead of visiting you, I visited another lab with a HAAS. We made the post and cut nicely hard materials. Next week we are making a post for a Primacon.
In all cases, I would suggest that you use GO2dental for a few weeks.

I think the Primacon post would work, not sure for the HAAS as the machine model/options may be different from your's.

Test GO2 and post a feedback on : is it accessible to anyone after 2H training ? Are the toolpaths nice for cutting hard materials ? Is it easy to machine implant interfaces ? and tell us what you dislike (apart from the price :). )
What do you think ?

Eric , can you trial a sift ware called Meshcam, a free trial, and tell us if you can integrate the same user interface for to selection?

I do not need help with the posts.

I would have provided you with the correct posts. (What is needed for each mill)

Different thing. I'm certianly not paying a penny for this! LOL

We already draw our mill in CAD to use for collision, and we can add it without help into the CAM.

We can already make strategy to mill our parts, and we already have library of interfaces.

The cost was rediculous. Sorry. Not even close to what I would pay.

I just wanted this to help get rid of my KaVo.

I will keep it, or just throw it away One day instead.

Sorry to waste your time, and good luck.

Scott, you seem not to know that a post processor is proper to the CAM, not to the machine. Therefore, if ever you want to drive your machines with another CAM, you will need another Post processor...and to redo the design of the mill within the CAM and to redo the strategies. This takes time and you may have to pay some pennies.
If your Kavo is OK, and if I hear about people looking for this, I'll let you know.
Good Luck.

Each cam has posts for different mills if you dont have them you never worked on that mill !!!! and yes than its a lot of work but for a custumer means that hes working with unproven things !!!!! and posts are your problem

Yes, I know. Thanks.

You need to know how to do it not me! LOL and I'd show you!

I already know how to make the correct post for my mills.

ex, what are limits of a and b?, how to make tool measurement happen?, how to even make feedrate (that is specific to HAAS!) and if to use inverse time, how to begin and end a program, what workoffset, etc etc......checking for broken tool? How to call up a tool change, coolant M code is normal?? When to cut on/off, etc etc.....LOL

I would just show you faster than you could figure it out for yourself.

I check your work by reading the output from your cam. DUH!!

I hope you can work your own program to just make these necessary adjustements in minutes.
I tell you what is needed.

I am not paying for $25k for that. No thanks!

I just helped do work for you. Why do I pay extra for that!! LOL

What is your avatar by the way?

A Super-Hero, someone with a helmet?

Do I see fire? Sorry, does not look very clear.

For those (***) Who want a GREAT BOOK, that explains a lot about 5axis machining, including negative inverse time , Scott, this is an easy read.
It required basic understanding of g-code to really get it, but it is fair to say, if you grasp it, you'll consider it the best $40 you spent in 2014....

Scott, thanks for superhero praise, I'll put the undies outside next time.
It's me wearing a surf helmet (big waves here in oz) cutting with a grinder , just a funny image that I identified with. Safety first! I was getting burnt hair from the sparks, and with all the volatile products I use to maintain the shine, I was worried about catching fire....
