Framework scanning

Hi!

I like to ask your advice about framework scanning.I have a 3 Shape D250 Scanner with Dental Designer 2009 software.

So i'm thiniking about is it possible to scan a wax framework than mill it from zirconia?

I know it is easier to scan and make it with the Dental Designer software. But in my metal section(we use convetional wax technique) it should be necessary to archived some frameworks.

I think it can be scan as an STL file somehow,then it can be mill.

So,what do you think?

Hey Stumpf, yeah scan it as a wax-up. then you can still add or subtract from the frame.

this is good for Zirconia under a partial, or doing wax-ups for Zirconia abutments.

With the abutment design software from 3 shape there is no need to do the wax-up for zirconia abutments.
