Does anyone want to post the "weiland format" or "manuel" or "single file" stl so I can see how the STL needs to be arranged....although I'm afraid to click that link for fear of Sirona gavel coming down on me.

Paulg100, do you have Sirona millingmachine? Or any other milling machine?
It sounds like you know much but give me more details...

We have two Sirona millingmachines. Other is old cerec3 with intraoral scanner and other is inlab ineos and MCXL.
These are our old system, but it is nice play with them now in this Dentero software.

We have allso Röders RXD5 in our millingcenter, and you are most wellcame to see my Hi quality milled products any time. Maybe we can talk more about quality...

I means that 3shape designed crown, converted to cdt and millied with MCXL is better than most crowns that we have made from Based Sirona scannings!

Yeah i know what you meant, just some sarcastic english humour ;) any data has to be an improvement over the sirona scanners, especially the crapcam (ineos red).

Yeah we bought the procera then the Cercon stuff when that came out 10+ years ago, then the dreaded craplab with MCXL. biggest waste of money ever.

I send my ZR to the local milling guys now who use a Haas, the difference between that and the best possible fits i ever got from crap lab after a torturous 18 months of battling with it, are like night and day.

ive shifted to a more niche higher end set up now so i wont be milling in house again for the foreseeable future, dont do much ZR now anyway, mainly emax. Would be nice to have a wax mill for the emax one day maybe.

Our production lab still use the Cercon and craplab though.

id love to know if anyone has found a way around the date limited stack software yet.
after playing around, the only way i think will work is a bios date change then windows fresh install, and changing the bios date before loading windows.

Dont work if you just reset the date in windows its self, needs to be at bios level.

i read something about using a drained cmos battery to freeze the bios date, might look into that some more also.

You are right about milling wax and press it to e.max. That is most best way to make restaurations in e.max.
We use our Röders to this allso.

Can I get some instructions on the whole process on making this work...I feel technologically challenged right now and that's not a feeling I'm used to.

1. Click that link and donwload
2. Run the utility to install the registry keys
3. Change the MAC address of your computer to match the one provided.
-What if you aren't connected to an ethernet cable and just a WiFi network? Will it not work?

4. Open Dentero the program

5. Open an STL file formatted as ___________________. Can someone please post an example of the resulting CDT file and the STL file they used for conversion?

6. Export to CDT by ____________...Because the buttons are in German, and some of them are missing because the MAC adress is greyed out.
7. Open the exported CDT in Inlab 3.8?
8. Mill on MCXL?

Is this the correct sequence or is Dentero controlling the MCXL directly? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I want to mill crazy non dental things on my colleagues MCXL!

pat ive had a quick look at this, as far as i understand, it dosent allow you to directly mill any converted CDT to the MCXL.

once converted you then have to load the file into the craplab software so that you can mill it, and if im correct, its only working with simple units, single copings and crowns i think.

essentially its not doing anything more than your blender utility did.

so i also hope that at some point someone finds a way to mill from a different cam straight to the MCXL. I know its not the best mill ever but it might mean i can make some kinda better use of it in the future rather than using it as a door stop.

^I agree. It would be great to have the post processor of the machine available using a different CAM. It's not a paperweight right now since we're able to mill most fot ehd ay using it, but the software is downright terrible.

How much people here know about opening Sironas cam software? Or how to run Sirona millingmachine with another cam? I have see in youtube video where some one is milling zr implant with old cerec3 millingmachine, if I remember right... How this is done?

no idea.

Im sure it wouldnt be that difficult for someone which specialist knowledge.

I made an email enquiry to CIM some time back, they seemed to think it would only be a few days work and would look into it if i bought some cam software from em.

But it would have been like throwing more good money after bad, the mill is garbage really so no way i was going to spend 10k on cam software to mill on it.

If your serious about it then get in touch with em.

What Wieland output format version you use in Dentero? We have now 4.0 output format, but Dentero can not make good conversion to inlay preplines. Crowns works ok...

Any ideas?

Thanks.

NX6 CAM is software that generates code g.
All CAM software makes this
Cerec milling machines work with G code but.... don´t see.
G code is:
X
Y
Z
Alex open a compact milling... and work with G Code
