Dr. asked that we use butt margins on his implant case. Anyone have success with that on titanium abutment?
Not sure of the logic but he is one that you don't ask.

Walk in your clients office and school him on his/her stupidity.

I have not stacked a porc margin in 5 years its just a total ridiculous and needless act much like metal ceramics

Nope never have and never will. To much room for error.

on the other hand do it and let him know if it breaks there will be a 200% remake fee. LOL 100% is for the crown the other 100% is for his stupidity.

My thoughts also.....I can not get this man away from PFM.......only 20% of his work is all ceramic! Thank you for your input!

Maybe it is time to find a replacement so you can get away from him?

I had a prosthodontist ask me to do that also...claimed he was certain it was the best marginal integrity. I actually fired opaque on the abutment shoulder before hand so it wasn't rejected for greyness through " a PM on a Ti abutment" Case was accepted and delivered but pretty much the last case done for them.
There's attention to detail and then there's out there...;-)
