So the same doctor called me today to inquire about another grill...

The patient is asking for a lower and upper grill with geometrical designs and the best part is they want the upper grill to have the letters... U S A!!!

So what alloy should I use?

Anyone have a great yellow gold that's inexpensive on their minds???

Thanks!

I'm looking through Ivoclaires catalog and I would guess a 50% Au alloy would be ok. But I wont know how it looks till its polished, so I'm wondering what you guys like to cast your full gold crowns in. What looks the most beautiful..

Make it in semiprecious polish to high luster and gold plate.

Try "super 12" by argen CU./AL. based alloy. Maybe $70.00 bucks oz. I've done a few novelty teeth with this.

That would be very cost effective, but we don't have any electroplating materials in house and I think this guy wants full gold. Hes some wall street guy who wants them for play.

I already made this guy some Silver/Palladium grills. He LOVED em, and now wants gold. I think 18k is perfect.

I wasn't worried about porosity in my Silver/Palladium casting, but am worried about it in my gold. I have had lots of success in the past casting FGC's. But now were talking casting almost an ounce. So I need to be carefull, and professional. I would hate to burn an ounce of gold. Then burn another ounce casting the lower grill. :)P

But I'll make another thread when Im building the grills and share...

like this..
