As we watch the price keep going up, at what price are you willing to sell? Im thinking my scrap will go in at 2000...but for no real reason. What indicators would predicate a top in the market??

Here we go.....over $1900 today I bet!

Almost there....

US Dollar is depreciating at record levels.

Maybe 46% a year inflation or so?

Bank of America is about to go under BTW!

With all do respect DMS, maybe you are good in dental, but as economist and on prognosis of present and future inflation you are more like an astrologist.
Let's be real.

In our area the reason more EMax posteriors aren't done is track record. Doc's in this area like to stick with what works. Although all the studies prove otherwise, pfm's around here have lasted 20+ years, so why change. Full gold is still the most hygenic and it has proven itself over the last 40 yrs. My step-mom has gold inlays that are 40-50 yrs old. I agree the new materials and lower fees will eventually force the younger Dr.s hands, but as for those practicing that are 40+ years old, they seem to like the consistency that the old standbys' offer. Just my 2cents

Regarding. BofA,I agree. That is why I do not invest in individual security's. Diversify and do not follow the crowd.

OK, go ahead and tell us the good news.

I'm not a Gloom and Doom guy, but that's all I see for the economy recently.

Can you give me a reason to see the light at the end of the tunnel?

First,I suggest you to read some books on economy and investing people like J. Bogle for example.
Second, go back to the history like in 1987 to see what heppend with gold than. Just follow up history of all asset bubbles.
Third, never mix politics and finance (personal investments) you'll never succeed with your long-term strategy doing so.

really 1987? Ill play....

no we zoom out a little to gain some perspective on golds action at that time
awww.kitco.com_LFgif_au85_89.gif
Now lets try to find that tiny blip in the bigger picture....
awww.kitco.com_LFgif_au75_pres.gif
Kind of hard to see the value in your reference......while there have been moderate fluctuations...even a few shakes....Gold was relatively stable through the 80s and 90s.....
But if we isolate the Gold index since 2000..a meteoric rise..and consider the US dollar index during the same timeframe..a tumbling drop..the picture is bleak....Gold has sextupled and then some...while the dollar sits near halved (62%) relative to other major currencies.

I like this site.

I try to post content worth clicking on.

Sometimes good info.
Sometimes a joke.
Sometimes bad news.
Sometimes incorrect info.

At times, I try to help my business on this site. I also pay the owner of this site a small amount as of recently.

99% of the time, I post for the fun and to be social. I try not to advertizze because it detracts from the contect of this site.

Yes I post stuff that screams for attention. It helps to keep people here, and to attract new members. Feel free to make yourself welcome and start threads of your own about anything. If it relates to the Dental world in some way or another...the better!

If I seem like a fool, then go ahead and point it out. I can totally take it all day long. I have a thick skin.

Thanks for posting Ed!

Scott
