Have anyone tried Zirkonofen 700 ultra vacum? ??

It sinters under vacuum. It gives a better chroma in my opinion but sintering under vacuum is harder on the elements. You have to run intermittend non vacuum firings to repair the elements

Damas - worth it or not?

I know some labs in the US and UK are Damas registered. Here down in South of Africa we don't know too much about it. Anyone care to enlighten me on the value or worthiness of Damas? Information on it is vague. Is it a very expensive and complicated process?

    Cubical Zirconia loses strength??

My two cents - having not seen the research - When grinding sintered zirconia with diamonds, I have seen research that indicate that grinding with a grit larger than 25 micron weakens zirconia. Grinding with a grit of 25 micron however strengthens zirconia. The microcracks with rough diamonds...

One question for roland users milling vita enamic

Glass is mostly made up of silica - Here are the basic components of modern glass: Pure Silica(SiO2 , fused quartz) represents 70-74% weight of modern glass. In ancient times, glassworkers prepared recipes with more than 90% of pure silica, but because this substance has a melting point of...

One question for roland users milling vita enamic

:) I am not heavily into the semantics. But ask a Dentist/Technician what a "composite" is and they know the Dental term. Glenn is right in terms of language. Zirconium is a metal Zirconium Dioxide (ZrO2) used in Dentistry is a ceramic "Yttrium tetragonal Zirconia polycrystals (Y-TZP) based...

One question for roland users milling vita enamic

The wear is very close to natural tooth structure. Antagonist wear also. The plaque index is far superior to true composites and similar to ceramic. Well within the ISO specs. Same for discoloration.

One question for roland users milling vita enamic

Still too new to judge but so far I have not heard of problems besides some individuals over-etching it with 9% Hydrofluoric instead of using 5% Over-etching removes too much ceramic and the excess of remaining polymer does not facilitate a good bond. Therefore stick to the instructions. I also...

One question for roland users milling vita enamic

Dental composite resins are types of synthetic resins which are used in dentistry as restorative material or adhesives. Synthetic resins evolved as restorative materials since they were insoluble, aesthetic, insensitive to dehydration, easy to manipulate and reasonably inexpensive. Composite...

    Duceram kiss porosity problem

It could be metal contamination or your sandblasting sand could be contaminated. I would change both for new and see how it goes. I mix 25% new metal with any old metal. Had a technician sandblasting his acrylic dentures in my sandblaster for metal. Endless problems until I discovered what he...

One question for roland users milling vita enamic

Enamic is not composite- Its is 86 % Ceramic and 14% polymer. Not sure dry milling wont have an effect on the integrity of the material. It is a porous ceramic block infiltrated with polymer in the pores. What does dry milling do to the ceramic structure? Ceramic should be grinded not cut. From...
