    3shape Model Builder

Wow! 60 IS impressive. John Henry seems to be beating the machine in this case. Currently we are only printing models from IOS scans. We were scanning impressions for awhile but found that the bites were not accurate a good portion of the time, and while they can be re-articulated digitally...

    3shape Model Builder

Unfortunately as per company policy I cannot disclose exact numbers. I can say, however, that if you give someone a week or two to get used to the process it ends up being cost effective even with the price of build material for the printer. We are currently using both an Objet 350v and an...

    3shape Model Builder

We are using IOS scans directly as the data quality is better and we can get a faster turnaround time. We also decided to invest in the full version of Model Builder however, which has a bit more functionality (we are also doing scanned impressions to a limited extent). You have to set the...

    3shape Model Builder

Hi Techy! 3Shape Model Builder is fairly intuitive to use. We have been printing our own models on site now for almost two years, with great success. You can select from a variety of different articulation systems (including vertex) to attach to the model. We have had mostly positive...

    3d printers question

With that machine it may depend on the software. I know we have CAM Bridge from 3Shape that allows us to add and edit sprues on our perfactory machine. Maybe their software would do the same? Last I heard the latest ProJet from 3D Systems was about $80-90,000. We have an Invision DP here...

    3d printers question

Agreed! Well that is a nifty looking machine. I found a few references online claiming that it can print at 20 micron, which is impressive. Try emailing the company to make sure their software can accept .STL files (athough I don't see any reason why they shouldn't). Also maybe request some...

    3d printers question

Are you asking from 3Shape specifically or in general. Almost all CAM equipment, especially from major manufacturers will accept an .STL (stereolithography) file. In regards to the angle and spruing it depends on which printer you decide to go with. Those like Objet, 3D Systems, and Dimension...

    Is anyone else Printing?

If I may inquire why? Also what model and price on the EnvisionTEC? We are using both EnvisionTEC and DP3000 to print. DP3000 is great... when it works. Too many moving parts!

    Wax milling

Yes, we double check contact, excursions, and marginal fit before investing.

    milling Bruxzir

In regards to vacuum, we are using a Vanaman 6 hooked up to two Glidewell BruxZir Mills. This seems to keep them fairly dust free, although we do have to clean the filter every two pucks....

    Wax milling

With the setup we have we can get two scans done in fiveish minutes and some of our designers are capable of producing 45 units in a day. I would venture to say its probably better utilized for mass manufacturing standpoint than maybe a few person lab.

    Model Printing??

Especially the mind games where it acts like it's ok, you go check something else, and then come back to find that it has dropped 6 cartridges. Again this is just ONE machine and may not reflect the majority of 3D Systems products.

    Model Printing??

Reliability mostly, primarily cartridge change issues and the LOM sensors in the head. The customer service on the machine was good but when you start to get on a first name basis with the service personnel... When it works the parts are good but every few weeks we seem to have a new (and...

    Model Printing??

What is 3D systems charging a kilo for their model material? The demo models they sent us looked really nice. 35 micron resolution right? Sadly they didn't have that material or a production version of the model printers when we started to get involved in this. ... also the Invision DP we...

    Don Albensi

Still putting the finishing touches on the layout, but I believe they have started breaking ground. Should be finished up by September. How are things down there? Thanks for the shout out Mark!

    Model Printing??

We are using both the Objet Eden 350v and the EnvisionTEC PP4. Both are great printers for the roles we have them performing in the lab. We keep the Objet for producing models based on intraoral scans (Lava COS, E4D, Cerec, etc) and checking the contacts and occlusion, which works great. For...

    3Shape support....

I think part of the issue, is the general unfamiliarity of how CAD translates into CAM which unfortunately is the result of many labs being unable to invest in the equipment. I would encourage anyone who is using dental software (3Shape, Dental Wings, etc.) to either get some basic CAD books or...
