I use a pencil to indicate height of contour along lingual and scribe (buccal/facial too). Every time your pictured /F is inserted it may rub the tissue/ridge and create a sore/white spot.
This is an easy one- especially for you as you have experience finishing dentures. . Look at your casts. Grab a pencil and draw a line around them precisely where the model starts to flare outward. Carve post dam now as well. Take and scribe your line lightly into the cast. Now- when finishing-...
THIS has zero to do with the articulator type. A semi or fully adj. zillion dolla art. STILL has a hinge in the back..... unless I'm missing something?
I really appreciate your writeup. Needs to be in a book!
The issue I speak of is a thin bleed- maybe a 10th of a mm thick and 2 tenths high up onto the tooth intersection with the wax-- sometimes lingual, buccal or labial. If I use a hard putty it adds a step, time, a cost and also is just one...
In my experiences.... the stone residue is up onto the cervical of the tooth- usually a half mm or so and can be around back or front of ANY teeth... or just a few... I have never solved the problem. I do not have this issue with flexi materials. Only acrylic and stone investment. It is pink...
Triad sucks and has always sucked. Megatray is awesome. Comes in 1.4 and 2mm thicknesses and in blue and pink. You can even ADD to it! I paint model w/ tin foil sep, let dry a bit, form my plate, cure 3 mins, remove plate and toss it in isopropol rubbing alcohol for 3-4 mins. Scrub w/ soap and...
Material flows awesome and flasks are at 160deg. Today I am going in with room temp flasks and a test case along with my working case... I'll let ya know.
Old school Valplast hand press and heater. Duraflex material. Only happens on free end saddle cases where the bulk of material is in the posterior. I preheat the flasks to 160f or so. Gonna try it room temp and see. Sometimes it happens--- sometimes it don't. Technique is same for every one...
Thank y'all! I grabbed my B63, A2 and B2 Portrait guides and let the Dr. have a look..
She settled on A2.
It is flexi P/ including 11-14.
I think the situation was one more of comfort than an actual specific B63 shade... I did swap out her Bioform guide for an extra Portrait one I had.
I am...
Also just received a sample of pink wax from Yates... Easy to carve but the color burns out pretty quick sitting in the wax warming pot.... Not the stuff for me to complete waxups.
As for the wax... Uhler Dental supply has a super setup wax that is supposed to be the recipe from the now defunct Barnesdent Jack's Wax. Been using Jack's SETUP wax more than 20 years now.
No disrespect but Dsply is a lil bigger player in the world market than you may realize. If you don't keep ahead of the curve you may become a backmarker... They are in it to make money. BIG money. Not to keep us little buyers happy.
Molloplast soft liner. Keep the liner thickness minimal so it ain't heavy. Put a foil palatal relief strip in as well... Have Dr. mark the vibrating line on the Hydrocast impression and instruct you as to depth.
