Need to trial pack more (little pea size amounts) and if possible let bench set (20 or thirty minutes) before processing. All the steps leading up when you are in a hurry, such as boil out, paint separator hurriedly pack before separator is dry enough and models are too warm ,then throw in the...
No matter what you do if the dentist is soaking your wax try in in hot water then having them bite down because verticle is off then they push the teeth back in place or make major adjustments. OR they let the pt take the wax try in home to see how they like it all bets are off :-)
Dentist probably wants more land mass because pt was having trouble keeping denture in. I would just follow what they want and they can trim back chairside to keep the tongue from displacing. Don't be surprised at some point to see the denture come back to you full of temp softliner requesting a...
I've already commented on my thoughts on this earlier, but in my opinion Dr. Massad has/had one of the best denture impression and tray /bite procedures out there. He may be retired now but still great system for analogue dentures. The cow patty shaped models that I would have to trim back would...
I would be temped to ask the dentist to watch a couple of cases from start to finish. I would especially watch what kind of temporaries they use, are they falling out between appointments? Things shift, a slight movement can throw everything off. Might not be on your side.
I'm no expert on these things but look how close to the root this is, then look at mesial side of post like it's been moving/rocking. Could be failing or as simple as a hygiene problem?
You're going to come across dentists who have their own way of doing things. Either be respectful and learn their way for their case while also educating them to your way, or slowly fire them while looking for a more compatible client.
In a perfect world that's a great idea! In the real world it isn't so perfect, such as last minute cases at Christmas in which the doc says they are headed out of town and need these back in a week, and surprise they are for cases other than night guards and no way to contact dentist while they...
I don't envy having to make this case as a finished denture without try ins, and even with try in in wax it would be a hard one. This will be on the dentist to get it right and communicate with you.
It's really up to what the pt wants, that and was the bite severely worn down making the prog worse. If so I would explain why and step by step if the bite is opened and you are able to get end on end or better at that point (in wax). I remember seeing just a case like that on a young school...
