Have you tried " ceramist" brushes by Renfert. These brushes have synthetic bristles. They point well with a tap, and flatten out nicely. Endo files work well for adding anatomy.

Is your hydroflux the same as a hydroflame welder? We used a hydroflame in school and we were told it got up to 6000 degrees F. The melting point of gold is 1947 degrees F. Wouldn't you blow a hole in the gold crown?
