Help with Complete Dentures practical exam

I used a Hanau H2 when I took my exam 6 years ago. I believe had the Condular Guidance set at 30 degrees and the post rotated to 15 at the base. Good luck.

    Triad Air Barrier Coating substitute?

Yes, for those of us that still use analog products, Dentsply sucks. In addition to still using my Triad and Eclipse machines, I use the Success acrylic injection system daily -also now discontinued. Thanks for the suggestions! I may have some KY in a drawer somewhere...

    Triad Air Barrier Coating substitute?

Has anyone found a good replacement for the discontinued Triad ABC for light cured material? I've tried 99.7% glycerine, and clear Coe-Sep separator, and while they work somewhat, they don't cling to the baseplates like the old Triad ABC., leaving bare spots. Thanks.

Help touble shooting microwave processing acrylic...

I know this sounds obvious, but double check you are using/grabbing the correct monomer. I have grabbed the wrong monomer before and had disastrous results. I have heat cure, pour and microwave monomer all by the same manufacturer and the bottles look very similar. Especially when you are in a...

    Hydrocoloid chopping tricks

I worked at a place once where they used a pineapple dicing utensil, you put the colloid in a bucket and chop away. It worked really well and was fast. https://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/stainless-steel-pineapple-slicer-dicer/

    Partial framework casting lab (Midwest)?

Hi, Hoping to get some recommendations for a good framework casting lab in the midwest (other than Bertram). I'm in IL, but don't mind shipping elsewhere. My current lab has changed ownership and key personnel, resulting in the need for change. Finding a new decent casting lab is proving to be a...

    flexistone replacement in IvoBase processing

Is this a quiz? My understanding is that boiling it too long causes the wax to seep into the stone around the teeth, preventing the separator from properly isolating the stone from the acrylic & monomer. But, if you didn't boil it too long to cause the wax to melt, what is the cause of stone...

    flexistone replacement in IvoBase processing

I use flexistone on all Ivobase investments. If you just put it around the teeth as opposed to covering the entire waxup it goes a lot farther. I only keep my flasks in boiling water for 6 minutes, then separate. You do have to be watchful/careful of loose teeth, I lightly probe them and remove...

Who knows of a good pink opaque for partial frameworks

I find the Taub tru-paque to often move /streak during injection processing. I now use this: http://www.xpdent.com/catalogs/bredent/liquids/ropak-liquid.aspx?sm=c_l# It's light cured and a bit pricey, but it works great!

    Flexistone by Buffalo Dental

No I use the regular Flexistone. I have thought of trying the Plus version just to see what, if any, the difference might be. When you first use the Flexistone you're going to think that it's a pain and messy, but after a few cases you get better at it and it's not so bad. Don't get any on your...
