If you let this go your life will be a living hell. The doc needs to be accountable for an accurate impression and detail instructions, including implant type and size, so that you can proceed successfully. This is a teachable moment for you with the doc, take advantage of the opportunity.
I"d be curious what Keystone has to say about repairing the material. Cost is minimal for this process, so I can't see a good reason, except curiosity, to repair it.
I rarely got enough reduction for PFG crowns. I got a little more for zirconia from the ones who had been doing Emax. I can't imagine enough room for both materials to be esthetic, much less last for any length of time under normal occlusal forces.
edit for spelling
Scott, our local Dentsply rep (his name starts with a B, you probably know him) was top producer and was let go at the beginning of the next year for, well, he was making too much money. Typical top management. Two years later he was hired back as no one could handle the job. Dentsply has...
We had a local lab who was making encode models for us. 3i found out and created a real sh*t storm for the lab. Threatened to take away their license. We only do work for one doc who uses that system and we talked him into taking an implant level impression to get the future cases done. No...
There was a thread on here awhile ago about all of this and Bennett Napier provided me with information that I posted. it should be on forum somewhere. People, Dess,(Keith),I'm looking at you, were bitching about TruAbutment. They met all the requirement the FDA laid out and it was posted...
So my IT guy uses Dato fro the cloud service. It uploads every hour, more often than I thought. He also setup the VOIP on AWS. All -n it's like 290.00 a month That's cheap insurance for all the data.
I pay a monthly fee that includes a lot of extras. It's a couple of hundred dollars a month. Worth every penny with so much data flying through the air now. Actually I don't pay it anymore, Kevin, who worked with me for the last ten years, bought the lab on 2/5. He's paying for it now...
We had the Computer guy put in cloud service for our entire lab. Everything is uploaded 3 times a day. In Florida with the lightning issues it's almost a must-have. We even have a surge system on the building here.
I'm just glad to know that the $3000.00 I paid a long time ago has been expensed. Free would have been nicer. Straumann did the same with itero to work with their implants...it's free now too. Was $5000.00 Rat Bastards!
We have no issue using Exocad. We did fabricate about 30 night guards, for free, for the office next door to get our fit, occ;lusion and function worked-out.
They tell us is a 15 minute appt. Charge accordingly, just 'cause they're quick doesn't negate your skills and knowledge.
