EP5000 Crack detection, but no crack...

Thanks Charles, but mine goes off periodically for no apparent reason. In some cases I escape the CDS and restart and it presses ok- if a lot more rough than normal since it heats the ingot 2x as long to do so. I just want it off. It has only maybe once saved a ring in all these years, but has wrecked many. I never have a ring crack that I haven't knowingly pushed the limits WAY beyond reason. To me it serves no positive purpose.

Had a similar issue, someone else mentioned it...I had to replace the press drive.

Has anyone figured out a work around to disable the CDS on the ep5000? I have lost more work due to false "crack detection" over the last 7 years than it has saved by 1000%. I hate it so much I would probably consider other presses without it if I were buying again. At least let me turn it off! hh!

even with the software update that @Patrick Coon was talking about?
