Does anyone know when Invisalign will accept Trios files?

I was told by the local rep that they had made a decision not to. The reason given was that they had evaluated the scan data and that it is not good enough... go figure?

Really? It's the same as Itero. I know they are pushing Invisalign drs to buy a scanner.

Thanks for sharing that .

What a load of BS. Aligntech own Itero. That is why they will not open up. They need to sell their over priced, oversized IOS units. Accuracy has nothing to do with it. Neila your local rep should learn a bit more about their competition. This is in no way having a dig at you it just annoys me when rumours are spread by clueless reps.

If that's the case, then why did they open it up to 3M?

They know that Invisalign is still one of the strongest selling points for Itero. They give that up to Trios and then it is only price. Trios is so much easier and practical to use in the real world. I have a doc who has both. He has not used his Itero since....

I would love to know his reasons.
I have a client interested in purchasing another scanner primarily for invisalign because his cerec is closed to align.
I was hoping he would prefer the trios over the itero if he could send to Align.

Is there an alternative to Invisalign?

3M aren't selling a competitor for align in their CAD system.

Lot of red tape and hassle with invisalign. Its a money thing.

The alternative to invisalign is 3shape ortho. DIY

i thought it was in process again. They were denied once, but are now redoing the process for it.

anyone hear anything? it's my one biggest gripe about trios right now. We're clocking in a nice number of model-less crowns now - and now that i've done quite a few clinical scans myself, the trios trumps anything else in terms of user experience

Nothing on my end. There is a Canadian version of Invisalign but I'm not sure how popular it is.
I won't promote it just yet so don't ask me the name.

Off subject, but anyone heard anything about a Trios / Encode process? Biomet has enabled this for iTero and TrueDef....

They have also enabled it for Planscan. It has to go through a certified 3i lab partner. I heard that Trios is next.
