Split file is a double design. Coping and FC overlay.

I have also used the outsource design simply export out your 3 shape file and send and then reimport after design is complete.

Having tried this I can warn you that there will be a certain amount of inconsistency. Also, unless the logistics is being managed better, note that some of your designs will not be completed in the allotted time.

If you go forward with outsourcing and have good results, please post the news. I'm tired of being a guinea pig...

An example is where you design up a custom abutment and need a coping over the top of that abutment...you can do both at the same time. However, and this is a big however I've had little success with this. Usually the custom abutment needs a little Rob love and therefore your coping doesn't fit anymore. If it were me, I'd stay away from split files unless you're doing some pressed on stuff.

Atlantis is great for custom abutments via their FLO kit

I understand the meaning of the whole now not really .

If you already have the scaner and the software , and paid for it.
Why then the designe send away?

I mean the designe is the reason why you buy a scanner

I would not favor sourcing out my designs. We have our parameters and specific library that we spent time on dialing in. How would you get the same results from someone who knows nothing about what you specifically need? My parameters and designs are what keeps my clients happy.

This is clearly for production purposes. Just because you have a scanner and design software doesnt mean you have the ability to design X number of crowns in a day.. Scanning alone takes time. Designing takes dental know-how as well as CAD artistry.. It takes years to train that.
