Anybody update their identica blue scanner software

Today I clicked the update button in my identica blue scanner, and now wondering after the fact, if I should have even done it. Notice version:1.12

After the update I noticed some new bottoms like fileEdit, not even sure what it does.





And this reset button on bottom looks new as well. So my question is if anyone else has done this update, and if it's even necessary?

VERY GOOD QUESTION!!! I also wonder what are those for?? and perhaps learn any new trick with my Blue scanner, for example: when should I use texture and why does it save it in a format different from .stl ?
one more thing, the software sometimes crashes at the end of the scan process and I have to start all over again, is anyone else experiencing this issue? Thank you
