Ok, so this is an assistants mother for a new account we have. Doing the canines w/ precision attachments for partial. We'll be opening the bite about 1mm or so, and the doc wants more of group function type occlusion because she is hammering her ants right now, so I'll be shortening 6 and 11 a bit. Anyway, the shade is a bit over my head, but i'm going to give it a shot.

Thinking 4m3/w brown staining for the root structure. Insical third 4R1.5/EN3 with 3m2 halo on the incisal edge with a skin layer of 50/50 T4/Window, but I don't know how much darker I should make the higher value central body area than the laterals... I don't have a shade guide pic with D4, but it's kinda that yellow/greenish hue??

Any suggestions??

4M3 looks good for the neck. 4R1.5 looks good for main build. Because it is a canine I don't think you have to create the halo over that very trans area. I see canines often less trans and less effects as laterals and centrals. Also on same subject I don't think you have to hit the high value middle either. I think it would look fine and still natural if that was skipped. If you have the time and want to get artsy than I think adding more is fine as well.

Maybe :
build main dentin 3/4 size, 4R1.5 which in emax (from memory is a D2ish but redder???),neck 4M3 and fire.

Stain effects on neck, maybe brown, and white vertical craze lines if desired, and fire.

Use OE1 for trans area under the halo. Add your halo above. OE3 may work as the high value middle third.

Enamel overlay will depend on how you want to filter the prior effects.

On shades like this the Trans Brown Grey works nice when incorporated.

This is my two cents.

I wish i had some Trans Brown Grey, that would work perfect, but I only have some pinkish, whitish, neutral trans, and opal insical powders for pfm work. For e.Max I have a lot more. I do have OE3, and I think that's a good idea for framing in the higher value mid 1/3 and down right above the root structure.

Thanks for the input Tone

You might consider using a slightly lighter opaque in the middle 1/3, ie. A-3 or A3.5 and then overlay your 4m3. That should increase the value in the middle 1/3. Or you could use some white translucent enamel in that area. Looking at the remaining teeth, I don't think she will be overly concerned if things aren't perfect. :)

Haha, yeah she was very thankful that I cared enough to take her photo talk to her about how she wanted them to look. I don't think she has high expectations, but I do. I love challenges like this :D

Well it's in the oven. Unfortunately I forgot my camera at home and didn't anticipate doing this case today, but we need to get it to the removable lab asap.
