With all the space I would use zirconia with micro cutback for improved shade, and inform your account of alloy cost
should the doctor disagree..
Allow extra time for extreme slow cooling............. lol
If your able to use zir, personally I would tweak your fit setting with such a short prep.

I was kinda wondering how with such a short prep, it would stay cemented? But maybe with it being an end to end bite, helps keep the forces down the long axis, compared to if it were hitting on the ling Inc 1/3rd.

I would prefer to use emax and bond if emax can be pressed in such a tall crown

Its been several years since I've pressed anything, is it possible to press this case with the extreme height and thickness ?

Good idea, Charles...whatever there may be to bond to? Enamel is always the best, long term bond, dentine, not so much. So I'm not sure if a porc to metal crown would stay cemented better, or your suggestion of a micro layered zirconia crown?

You may be able to press a emax to that length, It would probably be out of the ideal pressing heat zone but it could work with all that mass feeding the margin? It just may be something I would want to slow cool on my firings, with all that emax mass above the prep, to keep it from possibly cracking?

I know, I have more questions than answers

i can see it now:

add hollow area to decrease weight.

Noble alloy to the root folks. Cost doesn't matter to this client.
It has been a few years since I've gotten a remake, I'm not worried.
This client does not do zirconia and quite frankly I'm not sure I would put zirconia so far sub gingival.

It is not the best contour work I've done but it's completed. Now to sober up err, I mean drink.

Did a crown similar to this situation not to long ago. Did a telescope and a crown on top.
