Here's a few of my attempts at astrophotography.
M27 is what happens when you don't use dark frames to lay the picture over. Lots of false colored stars and blobs. M27 is the football shaped cloud. Imagine all the other stuff gone, and that is it. Through a telescope with just your eye, the football ends can't be seen, M27 looks like a dumbell shape. That's its name Dumbell Nebula. Next is M13, a globular cluster in Hercules. Visible under dark skies naked eye. Easy to see with a pair of binoculars of any size. Next is M57. Ring Nebula. Next is M92, another globular cluster in Hercules, not far from M13. A little tougher to see with binoculars. Last is a crappy Saturn pic. I took these last year and have them stored in a computer out in my scope shed. Sometimes they look bad to me, other times O.K. Still, not bad for first attempts and little time to practice. All pictures were taken with an early version Meade DSI(deep sky imager). Meade has other imagers of more capability available now. When I have the bucks and the time, I'll move up. Mike. |
