Question: My dentist repaired a bridge but said it might not last longterm. If it doesn`t, I`ll need a dental implant. I`ve done some reading on them but haven`t come across anything that tells me what the procedure is like. How long does the procedure take? Is it painful like having wisdom teeth? What level . . .
Answer: Dental implant surgery is less traumatic than having wisdom teeth removed. I have no patients complain about the procedure. Either local anesthesia or IV sedation may be used.
