Default Frankel

I have made some of these intra-oral gymnasiums before. Maybe 10 or so over the years. Not a lot of demand for them. I've also made as many Bimler appliances, same need as a Frankel. I believe GL has a constuction manual for Frankels and variations used to be found on line, Frankel 1,2,3,4,5.

There is a book written by a fella called Harry Orton - It's published by Quintessence Books. It's basically a road map for most functional appliances. With regard to the Frankel, it does feature designs of an FR II and III (the more popular variants in the UK) plus the 'Kingston Modification' a design thought up by a couople of techies over here. It allows you to construct the Franfel with future advancement of the mandible in mind.
It's a cracking read - very technician friendly but it also explains the clinical management of the appliance (what kind of working bit to provide, which bits to grind after firring, and so on)

Seek it out.
