Hello, here's something new I came up with.
It should help extrude the incisors. The labial bow is driven downwards by niti springs. The composite undercuts are not as clean as I wanted them to be so I hope the doctor will be able to handle her own mess It's not as stable I wanted it to be, so I will use ticker wire next time, maybe 1mm![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanx guys !
@ Don : I was thinking of relocating to Vancouver earlier this year and applying for a job at Space Maintainers but there are too much "roots" here. I would take your job offer immediately if it wasn't so complicated for me to relocate to US. Of course you can use this solution, if I wasn't in the mood for sharing I wouldn't display pictures here ![]() Gurin lock would be great but they are not available here. You could take it even further by using IPC's ! The rear end of IPC could be welded to Adams clasps or Jackson crib like on Crozat. The front end could be bent downwards with enough straight wire to allow sliders to move down, and then embedded back to plate. This would make it more stable and adjustable, or even include canines in extruding process. I could make one next week just for demonstration,. I will probably end up spending all of my IPC's playing this way before I even sold one ![]() |

Good way to close the anterior.
To darn busy to put up more info. Later in the winter. If you were to come tot he states, work for yourself. Don't take a job. If you must take a job, there are labs with far more qualifications than Space Maintainers. I have known Space maintainers for many years, and am very unimpressed with their labs. That being said, possibly Don has a better handle on things. However the shipping out of useless tools with the IPC is problematic. Space Maintainers not only doesn't seem to care about this, they really don't care. Don does suggest that there are some old tools out ther to watch out for and that they can be ground to fit if your careful. Just what I needed to know after already sending some out to drs. IPC is a great devise, marketing and sales are totally incompetent. Great Lakes is an outstanding supplier and lab. The only place I order the IPC from. Teofil, you are clearly to good to work for anyone but yourself. Your roots may be deep, but you would do well here. The world needs more like you. Bring your entire family.

Teofil:
I forgot to ask...How was your vacation? and I will speak for both myself and Mike...What is a vacation anyway? I showed your design to my staff and everyone loves it, we are thinking it could be used in habit appliances to help bring down the Pre-Maxilla as habits are broken. Vancouver is awesome, I have a relationship with Protec and I will be happy to introduce you. Also I will be happy to talk with Space Maintainers regarding you. Mike: I understand your feelings and I am really upset myself at how the IPC is being handled but please trust me when I tell you that there are some really great people at Space Maintainers. There are some very talented and seriously knowledgeable techs there and if you met them you would like them...I am sure of this. In fact when I cant figure something out on my own I often turn to the people at Space Maintainers. Here is the short list of people I reach out to with questions: Appliance Design: John C. Space Maintainers Scott P. Space Maintainers Fabrication Technique: Igor S. Great Lakes Arlen H. Specialty Appliances Business Questions: Kendall L. Accutech Daryl M. Accutech New Ideas: Teofil Mike hang in there... school is almost starting and soon you will slow down enough to enjoy star gazing again. I always joke that if I am to have a heart attack it surely will be in August while doing a RUSH CASE for a patient leaving the country. Enjoy your weekend, Don |

Hey Don I am glad your staff liked Extractor.
Since I think it's design is my original idea ( I've never seen something similar) I will call it "Teofil incisor extractor", it feels nice having an appliance called after you Just a little vanity from me![]() I will make one with IPC's next week. The vacation was awesome, my first time in Greece. Everything was perfect except most of my energy was spent on running after my 2.5 year old kid. His batteries last much more than mine... it's a mystery where his energy comes from since we are having a hard time making him eat anything ![]() My vacation lasts more than a month What can I say...I work at a school and it's a summer brake. If my venture with my own Ortho Lab goes down the drain during next year ( I hope not )I might contact you concerning your Vancouver friends ![]() Thanx very much |

Space Maintainers issue....
An orthodontist continues education for 2 to 3 years after dental school to better their understanding of orthodontic treatment. Space Manintainers does full case work up, start to finish for general dentists to use while doing orthodontic treatment. These work ups are done by people who work at Space Maintainers, lab employees. While it is legal, it is less than second class. It seems to me that if a given dentist were truly capable as a dentist, he would not need to do third rate orthodontics to make a living. I have no problem with the general people that work at Space Maintainers, why would I?? My issue is with the owners of Space Manitainers painting a pretty picture for third rate treatment. And trying to distract from the real motive they have. Of course, I do remark about things that are considered socially incorrect, or politically incorrect. I have never been one to do such song and dance as " If you met the people and Space Maintainers, you would like them". B.S. Don. I can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. I will always speak out and make as clear as possible the reality of what is happening, not a "spin" on reality. Inman Labs, as itself would probably do just fine, to deal with Space Maintainers is unattractive to many who are truly competent. In orthodontics, dealing with Space Maintainers only improves position for those who swim in that pool. Again...the main issue is they provide service to less qualified dentists, those with no training in orthodontics, just for profit.

Mike:
Please let's start another thread to debate your Space Maintainers feelings, I will openly engage whatever you wish to discuss. I feel this thread is about Teofil and his amazing creativeness and not about Space Maintainers. Let's call the new thread Ortho Labs Working for GPs...deal? I will post your last post to start it, if it is a problem just have it deleted. Regards, Don |
