Al, not so much the government, but the general dental council!! But like turkeys voting for Christmas we are now, as of the 1st of august 2008 "professional".
Great this means more money going out in red tape, to pay for unnecessary jobs which have been created, it won't make a blind bit of difference, crap technicians will still make crap, only now they have got a certificate stating they are gdc registered and it's certified crap! This is fine though as they are registered, yeah ok. No one can work in a lab unless they are registered, so the lady who comes in for 2 hours a day to make your models that’s out the window as she is not going to able to register unless she or he goes to college and studies to be a dental technologist, no one will do that for a part time job. I live in the countryside and I am at least 3 hours away from the nearest training collage, so now it's impossible for me to employ a school leaver and train them myself as they need to be on a recognised training program, so I have skill I cannot pass on to any one. I could go on and on but I will save you that. Sixonice, I think we are at cross purposes here, as I agree with that, but I said A, B, C, D, you cant stain a2 shade to a c2 or d2 as far as I know, but I can make an a3 shade from an a2 lt ingot I know that. The other thing Al said he put all the rings in at once how?? I was taught that timing is critical in successful pressing. Cheers Odchamp |

I put my rings in the furnace in the evening and set it to come on around 3 or 4 AM, so I can start pressing by 8 AM. The instructions on the speedvest say put in oven, min 30 minutes to max 45 minutes, after investing. That gives me 15 min of play time which is about how long it takes me to invest a few rings + mabey 5 or 10 minutes. So Ill put in the first ones I invested first and wait a few minutes and start putting in the rest. That process is a bit complicated and time consuming to me because I have to stay close by till they are all in. I find it easier for me to use the regular set investment and do the overnight burnout. Od, now that you guys are professionals mabey you can raise prices to get more of a professional fee. Mabey a little payback for all the red tape. Does England allow dentists to mail cases to china? |

Just another little tip that may help with emax glazing is, I use the emax fluo glaze pate and if you need to dilute it I mix a very small amount of emaxceram zirliner allround liquid. this tends to hold the glaze much better. I use this liquid for most of my emax stains. I saw Jurgen Seger do this first at LVI with esthetic and then at a emax course he did. Hope it helps.
