Sintering ovens

Looking for a sintering oven. Don't know a heck of a lot about them. What's important?

The Dekema Austromat Basic $$$ has SiC heating elements,,no contamination ? no discoloring ? compared to the other types of elements
True, false, worth the extra cost over MoSi2 element ovens ..What's the real deal on sintering zirconia..

It is very very costly to throw away Fifty units of discolored Zirconia every other month, but I think I found a cheaper solution than the $20k sintering ovens.

Mine was $5k new, and very big and fast...more info to come as we put it to the test.

Charles, I have Hundreds and hundreds of ugly, worthless teeth! Maybe more! Also, we probably had to eat poo as we shipped out work Next-Day at our expense every time.

I had FOUR ovens go bad at once in Nov.

I could not believe it ! We went through elements like toilet paper.

I am trying a new supplier, with different alloy in element.

Maybe I am hard-headed, and should have gotten the expensive furnaces?

So, yes...it is expensive to save money! LOL

We recently bought in the summer a Nabertherm oven thru Talladium. Works awesome. Small unit. Small cost. Would definitely buy another when the volume need arises...... I think the cost was in the $5K-$6K range.....

Anyone have a manual or programming info for the Nabertherm. I can't find anything on their website but product catalogs, and the company we bought it from no longer sells them and hasn't any information.

CAPACITY! would be a big issue with me.
Some ovens are GIANTS sintering only about a dozen copings and bridgework at a time.
Some ovens are much smaller sintering 30-40 units at a time.

sintra, company from Israel. not bad. completely reprogrammable, up to 10 programs. max temp 1600C, you can slow down the process to 14hrs if need be. we're holding steady on 8hrs process.

Look for 208V
Fast ramp rate
Bottom entry
And an oven that will go to 1650 C

Kara,,,did you ever figure out a good program for the Nabertherm?
Care to share what info you dug up?

We ramp 3 hrs...1535.....hold for 2....naturally cool (i think i may have shared this with you already)
