Are you talking the # of ortho labs in Texas being only 300 ? Maybe
commercial labs, I don't know but I imagine there are a lot of in house labs.
Lake Ray Roberts it was about 5 mi from Pilot Point. Popular hangout for us kids! Also going to town Denton was something fun to do.

I was talking # of Ortho labs in the nation, I believe that doesn't include in-house. Those are probably to numerous to count. Cant blame Orthodontist, its such a good deal if you find someone competent.
Labdude,
I did a few appliances for Shiela birth's partner Dr. Stewart, not too long ago. Funny small world. I bet she is a HUGE account.

Hey FlipperLady where do you order your teeth from? Hendon, Patterson?

Hi,

I order from several places, Zahn, Heraus Kultzer, New Tek. etc...
I miss the old days ordering from H.K. (last year) when you could get free shipping and a much lower price on teeth.
Why do you ask?

Thank you I will.
Reading back through this thread I'm afraid i may have
hurt one of my denture friends feelings with the comment that I would like to chat with others that don't use Victoria secret analogies in their posts because that person is now ignoring me :-0
Sometimes my fingers typing beat my foot to my mouth.
Of course Victoria Secret analogies are sexist but didn't mean to say I didn't want to discuss dentures. I can comparmentalize (how do you spell that word?????)
Does this make sense??????
It seems every meeting I go to there is a sexist undertone in some classes even though there are plenty of women techs and dentists there
looking uncomfortable. I find walking out for a bathroom break in the middle of the lecture to be gratifiying in these cases :-)

Who is the light weight that you scared off???
I know of a Denturist office that may be for sale up here in Oregon, interested??
Mike.

I went to Portland Oregon in 1976. Do all the men still have beards and wear flannel shirts? It's a beautiful place. One of the many places I'd consider moving to but I suppose I'll end up in Texas. Wish denturism would pass here.....

Seems a lot of the people I meet up here are from California. We just wear what ever we feel like. Reminds me of a Christmas song....

In the top drawer, there's a teddy...
with straps, just like spaghetti...
they hold me so tight....
like hand cuffs in the night...
walkin' round in womens underwear.

We came up in 92. Never been back.
As for Denturism...check with William down in the denturist forum. He might have some ideas on how to get it passed in Texas.
Mike.

I'm not so surprised, being so close to california and all ;-)

How did denturism get passed in Oregon, Washington etc..... and not Texas?
Is it that the dental associations here are stronger than up there?
Are there schools up there for that ? Are the denturists a dime a dozen up there or not so many?

Hi Flipperlady,
Presently there are 6 states that Denturity is legal to practice in. They are: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Arizona, and Maine.
There are additional states that are in the process of trying to legalize the profession, however the only way it has ever happened is through the initiative process, It was placed on the ballot and the people voted it in.
In Oregon and Washington we have our own Board and are separate unto ourselves in some of the other states they allowed themselves to be placed under the board of dentistry... ultimately a big mistake, Arizona did this and today there are only about 5 active licenses left ... there has not been a new licensed denturist in over 27 years.
As to the number of active licenses in Oregon and Washington there are about 120 in each state give or take a few...... As to the other states, Idaho, Montana, and Maine, I am not sure.
I do have a beard but I don't wear flannel shirts..... LOL
