This assay can detect chronic ethanol use (greater than 40 g/day for two weeks). This is a blood test, The test is around $125. If it came back positive would onen need Antabuse, or disulfiram as it is also known, was the first medicine approved for the treatment of alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence.
