Default Know what would be great to have on this site ?

Ok, call me crazy, but how about this idea:

I have noticed that there is a section on the boards for patients. What if, inside that forum, there would be a description of all of the different types of dental materials, the pros and cons of each, etc., so that we could have a reliable, accurate place on the web to which we could refer our patients ?

I can hear the discussion in my own office right now:
"Mrs. Jones, you need to have 2 crowns made. I would like to give you the address of a website, and I want you to go there and read about the different types of crowns that are now available. If you have any questions about anything, please feel free to call me. This way, you can "look at the menu", and then let me know what type of crowns you would like me to make for you. You can decide for yourself what you would like me to put in your mouth."

Of course, I would have to tell them that I will make the final decision, as I am not going to do something ill-advised, but really, most crowns and be used in most situations, and it would save me from having to tell different patients the same things over, and over, and over.

Just my first 2 cents' worth of a contribution to the site,

Mike

Crazy good thinking, would there be any information already created that I could link to? I guess the point would be to keep people here. I would need some feedback on drafts that I could come up with, plus I could get some ideas from techs on what really is best for certain cases and what would be "best or worst" for that patient. I will put up a thread inside patient were we can argue or agree on a final presentable chart.
